Many of us would say that our eyesight is getting worse from playing games on computer. But researches show something oposite. Optometrists from the University of California at Berkeley has performed pilot studies which has shown that games (video games, online browser games, skill games) can improve visual acuity anddepth perception in adults with amblyopia, which is also known as lazy eye. It is a disorder of the visual system that is characterized by a vision deficiency in an eye that is otherwise physically normal, or out of proportion to associated structural abnormalities of the eye. Americans have demonstrated that it takes only 40 hours of training to deal with blurred vision.
In both experiments, was reported a 30 percent improvement in visual acuity, which is comparable to the shift of 1.5 on Snellen’s board. Americans insist that in case of child visual acuity improved by 1,5, were needed 120 hours welding of healthy eye. Vision was tested after every 10 hours of play. Some people started to see better even before than 40 hours.
It turns out that people who spent at these online games several hours a day, are about 20% better at identifying visual stimuli.
